The Matthews family

We've just spent a wonderful two weeks at Northway. Grace adores feeding the animals every morning with Farmer Bob and guessing which chicken will be first out (Go Feathery Feet!). Pauline's lovely touches in the cottage, fresh flowers and yummy cake, make it feel more like staying with family than a holiday rental. We cannot recommend Northway too highly and feel so lucky to have found it, I doubt we'll ever go anywhere else again. See you next year!

The Partridge and Shiel families

Returned from a fantastic week at the Coachhouse cottage (4 adults, one child almost 3 years old and a 13 month old). Definitely recommend and would come again if the opportunity arose. The swimming pool is a fantastic asset to the cottage, and was lovely to unwind (as well as the spa!). Feeding the animals at 9am every morning with Bob was lovely for the little ones and the adults too. Thanks Bob for making our stay so enjoyable. Love to Mr Tibbs, Dill, the goats, the ponies, the rabbits and the chickens (the speckled one will be out first one day!). Havent stopped talking about it since we got back, and a few friends are looking to come down to you having heard such great stories from us.

The Southern family

Just returned from a great week at northway. Wheatsheaf cottage was just right for our first family holiday together for a few years. Many thanks to Bob and Pauline for a lovely warm welcome and very tasty cake. We will most definitely be recommending northway to friends. Already booked for next year so see you then.

The Lyons & Appleford family

We have stayed at Northway many times mostly in the Stables. We are never disappointed and each time we come we find more places to visit. This year we did more walking and the scenery is breath taking wherever you go and it is so peaceful. The children enjoy the swimming pool and games room as well as feeding the animals and they are really excited if they win an egg produced by the chickens. Bob & Pauline are very welcoming and we always enjoy the lovely fruit cake waiting for us on arrival.

STABLE

The Wyeths

This was our first visit to Northway and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Hayloft and what a beautiful cottage it is; it was spacious and had the most amazing views over fields and towards Saunton sands. We had two teenagers with us who made full use of the pool and games room and we enjoyed a few games of pool ourselves! The Hayloft has everything you could possibly need and was extremely comfortable. It was lovely to feel so isolated yet everything we needed was within a short drive. Saunton sands is a must if the weather is good and Clovelly too. We are keen walkers and had so many walks to chose from locally that we were spoiled for choice. We are definately looking to return next year.

The Youngs

I thought that I must let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in Millstones this year. The children found so much to keep them fully occupied and the animals, swimming pool and snooker table proved excellent. Thank you for the delicious welcome cake and all your help throughout the fortnight. Thank you again for everything from us all

MILLSTONES

The Matthews

We have just arrived home from our first (but definately NOT our last) visit to Northway. Everything was perfect! Grace loved feeding the animals every morning with Farmer Bob. The pool, gym and games room were brilliant. The cottage (Granary) was gorgeous and we are already planning our next visit. So very glad we discovered Northway. Much love to Bob, Pauline and Dill, not forgetting Mr Tibbs, Patch, Sooty and JC, Molly and Brandy, the goats and the chickens.

GRANARY

The Robinsons

We wanted to get the family (7 adults plus 5 children) together to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary preferably all under one roof. Millstones came up trumps. What a fabulous place, loads of space, excellent facilities plus a snooker room to boot! The whole site was brilliant, what with pool, gym, games room animals and of course that stunning view. Needless to say the week we spent at Northway was given a massive thumbs-up by everyone so we will be back! Thank you so much Bob and Pauline for helping to make our special holiday truly SPECIAL.

What a wonderful time we had staying at Millstones. I have stayed at a various different holiday cottages and you can never be sure what to expect. We have been disappointed in the past but we were delighted with Millstones and all the facilities you offer. There were 14 of us altogether (10 adults, 4 children) but it wasn't at all cramped. There were lots of nooks and crannies for everybody to find their own space. The children loved the attic room! We all managed to sit around the enormous kitchen table for meals, and cooking was easy with such great kitchen facilities. We made full use of the pool and spa, again a favourite with the children! Sorry we didn't make it to feed the animals on Sunday but we woke late after celebrating John's 40th birthday! We would all recommend the cottages to friends and family and my son has already asked if we can return for a two week holiday!

MILLSTONES

The Reiks

We had a wonderful time in the Granary, and have returned feeling refreshed and with one very tired little dog !! The pool and spa were excellent and we had everything we needed in the accommodation to give us exactly the sort of break we were looking for. We will certainly look to return and recommend you to friends and family.

Another lovely time spent down in Devon and at Nothways Cottages for the second year. This time we stayed in The Stables, lots of room for the 4 adults and 2 children, lovely feel of country life. Went back to Bude/Sanymouth beaches and tried Westward Ho which was also a great beach for the family. Visited Appledore and Instow which are lovely harbours great for fish and chips. Watermouth castle is a must for children, beautiful setting. Thanks again to Bob and Pauline for the cake/provisions. We will be back ......

We had a great holiday at Northway. This was our third visit - and next year is already booked. We love the whole set-up, from starting the day feeding the animals (with the hope of winning a fresh egg each morning) to the pool and games room to enjoy at the end of each day. There are so many lovely places nearby we are still finding new ones to visit (plus the return visits we just HAVE to make) and, of course, the lovely cream teas that abound in the area.

We had a brilliant time - the cottage (Millstones) was lovely and the pool was superb. Just a shame the week went so quickly. Thanks for everything.

Lucy, Chris & Rio!

We had the most fantastic time here, myself, my partner and our dog stayed in Buttery Cottage and it was perfect! Small but perfectly formed and all we could have needed. We are in our late 20's and are both city workers and this was a little piece of the country that we both crave! Everything was clean and well kept, no corners cut that we could see! We would certainly both go back and would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away!

BUTTERY

The Frosts/Bridles/Robinsons, Snoopy & Charlie too, woof!

We all had a great New Year at Northway, this was our first visit, lovely views, accomodation, swimming pool, lovely walks and places to visit. Well worth a stay, the children and the dogs had a great time. We will all be back in the future. Many thanks to Bob & Pauline.

We stayed in Millstones cottage to celebrate my mum's 60th, and the first impression is when you walk through the door into the kitchen the large pine dinning table and it just felt like home, with a homemade cake and milk in the fridge for a cup tea after a 6 hour drive - bliss. We had a lovely week, kids loved the swimming pool and games room, such a beautiful part of the country, great beaches Bude, Sandymouth and Westward Ho and lots of other little places to see Hartlands, Clovelly and Lynton all are must to visit. This is a place I will come back every year. Thanks Bob and Pauline for a beautiful place.

I'm supposed to be working but I keep staring at the web camera shots instead as it reminds me of our lovely holiday in Granary last month! My son keeps telling all his friends about his holiday house where he gave a horsey a carrot (which isn't actually true - he was too scared so he made his 1 year old sister feed the animals while he watched from the comfort of his daddy's arms!).

I would just like to thank you again for such a great holiday. Wheatsheaf Cottage was brilliant for the six of us and provided a great base to explore North Devon. Although we never used the gym, we did utilise both the games room and the swimming pool both of which were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Northway again in the near future and will be recommending you to other friends and relatives. Once again thanks for your hospitality you made us feel most welcome.

The Matthews and Chan families.

We have just spent a wonderful week ( in spite of the weather) with our son, daughter in law, granddaughter and grandson in The Stables. They have come twice before but it was our first time and we loved it. The joy on the children's faces at animal feeding time with "farmer Bob" was worth the visit on its own! Our grandson said the best bit about Devon was farmer Bob and he even asked if he could stay with him when it was time to go home....we had already heard another child crying as she was going home the previous day, because she too wanted to stay! The Stables was so well equiped and was a real "home from home", except that we live in a city and don't wake up to glorious views and certainly don't have the luxury of the Northway swimming pool. We would highly recommend this spotless holiday destination, with the location being absolutely "spot on" for the whole family. Thank you Bob and Pauline for allowing us to be part of your "family" for the week and we look forward to seeing you again next year (we have all booked for August 2009 as we hope it will have stopped raining by then!!) An extra thanks to Pauline too for the delicious "welcome cake and flowers" and the opportunity to buy 2 beautiful water colours from those on sale in the games room. All told, a fantastic experience!
